BEHIND THE CUP

About

Everyone knows him as Andinho, and his coffee story began long before he ever called himself a producer. As a child, he walked the fields alongside his parents, who worked as day laborers and dreamed of one day owning their own land. Through years of hard work and sacrifice, that dream eventually became real, and the family purchased a small piece of land and planted their first coffee trees.

In 1996, when Andinho was still very young, his father became ill, and the responsibility of caring for the farm fell on his shoulders. Even in the face of uncertainty, he approached the land with the dedication, patience, and love his parents had taught him.

Together with his wife, Joyce Martins, who has also worked with coffee her whole life, they continued to seek knowledge and refine their craft. In 2015, they entered their first municipal coffee competition simply to learn where they stood. What they discovered was transformative: they were producing specialty coffee.

Since then, Andinho and Joyce have invested deeply in quality, environmental stewardship, and water conservation. Their work is rooted in the belief that coffee can shape a better future for their family, their land, and the next generation.
