Shantawene Washed | Ethiopia
As much as we love natural process coffees from Ethiopia, we love washed coffees from Ethiopia too! They usually have a lot of stone fruit flavors with florals to match and this lot is no different, compare it with Shantawene Natural for a delicious sensory exercise!

BEHIND THE CUP

About
Shantawene is typically known as a natural process coffee with big ripe berry fruit notes. However, this washed process version showcases the work of the new Buncho washing station that the Dukamo family finished in 2020.
Shantawene Village is located in the Bensa District of Sidama, Ethiopia. This washed lot is a collection of coffees from the village, produced at the local mill run by the Dukamo Family. Their company, Daya Bensa has quickly become leaders in high quality coffee collection and curation winning them numerous accolades. The mill at Shantawene Village has been especially successful as you'll taste in this coffee. We're proud to have worked with the the Dukamo Family since 2018 and are certainly excited to keep the relationship going for a long time to come.
2024 - Our Community Give Back Partner; Funds go towards Daye Bensa’s coffee school, which focuses on building an educated workforce for the growing coffee industry in Ethiopia
